The war in Ukraine has shown how united we are when we need it, not only for ourselves but also for our neighbours. Numerous examples in Lithuania show that public authorities, NGOs, society and private business can and do work together successfully.
One such example is the private school “Varnu sala” in Vilnius, which admitted pupils from the “Gravitation” school in Kharkiv; the State Patients’ Fund under the Ministry of Health provided the sanatorium “Pušyno kelias” for the accommodation of the families of these pupils, and various private persons and businesses took care of the well-being of the families staying at this sanatorium. The Vilniaus Prekyba Support Foundation “Dabar” has contributed EUR 2 200 by providing the premises with household appliances and other necessary household items.
