The ”Vilniaus Prekybos” Support Fund ”Dabar” is contributing to the master’s studies of the young and extremely talented pianist Ignas Maknickas at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Ignas played with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra for the first time at the age of 9. He graduated from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in 2017. Ignas then went straight to the Royal Academy of Music to pursue a bachelor’s degree. There, he was awarded the highest score in the history of the Academy’s Piano Department and received the most valuable award for a student – The Queen’s Commendation for Excellence. However, even then the young pianist’s desire to learn and improve did not end. In autumn, he will be continuing his studies in the master’s programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Appreciating his enthusiasm and desire to achieve more, the board of the Dabar Fund approved a grant of EUR 10,539 for the young artist.
